First introduced in 1979 at the South African Grand Prix, the 312T4 was Ferrari's first model to feature aerodynamic enhancing ground effects. Designed to be as narrow as possible, the idea was to optimize airflow. Ferraris T4 proved itself to be very fast and reliable, by Winning 6 races that year - including the Italian Grand Prix.
The race in Monza that started off slow, ultimately became a battle between the two teammates Scheckter and Villeneuve, eventually ending with Scheckter taking the lead and winning the F1 Drivers World Championship. The one-two finishes helping Ferrari win its fourth Constructors' Championship. Overall, achieving 6 wins, 2 pole, and 6 fastest laps that year.
