The 1975 Ferrari 312T represented a big departure from its predecessor, the 312B3. Designed by Mauro Forghieri, it featured many design innovations including the transverse-mounted gearbox, hence the T designation. Niki Lauda won 5 races with this car and earned his first Formula 1 Drivers' Championship title. Lauda’s points combined with Clay Regazzoni’s won Ferrari the Constructors' title.
