A car that dominated the 2017 season winning Mercedes the constructor Championship and Lewis Hamilton the driver’s one. The car had the longest wheelbase of the grid. It had very well refined aerodynamics with extreme bodywork and cooling. This car featured a completely new solution in the aerodynamics of the front of the car; Mercedes called it a cape. It's kind of an opposite diffuser. It starts from the point of the nose going down to divert the air under the chassis to better manage the airflow under the car in place of the usual vertical turning veins. It was introduced in Spain and remained in the car until the end of the season.
